Stay connected and stay tuned for updates!

Best Regards,Geranium

Dear Alumni,

I’m sharing you a monthly newsletter and an Aloysian’s story; a short sharing from current student, Ms. Chaw Yadanar Oo who is a Pekhon resident and a second-year student in the Integrated Diploma in Education Program. She is also serving as a member of the current Student Council. She has generously shared her genuine and passionate experiences throughout her learning journey at SAG in the attached file below, expressing how it has ignited a spark within her.

We are excited to share a story about the school updates and  learning journeys of our students each month. By doing so, we hope to foster a common and shared understanding and engagement of students’ personal development, as well as to take confidence and faith in the vision and mission of SAG.

Please feel free to share your comments, feedback and words of encouragement with us in the group. Your support and attention to these stories are greatly appreciated.

Yours sincerely,

Naw Geranium Crown

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2025 From SAG-IHS Alumni Office

Picture: albuddysj, Immerse in the Nativity Scene, pencil in paper (December 2013)

“The angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for see, I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people:to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger.’ (Lk 2:10-12).

To our dear Alumni,

With gratitude and thanksgiving, we look forward to continuing and building up our collaboration in making quality education available to our youth, especially to those who have less opportunity caused by the ongoing conflict and any unfortunate circumstances. We are grateful that our presence and work with Myanmar’s youth for twenty-six years becomes stronger despite the ongoing crisis and hardship.

Currently we serve about 270 students pursuing Diploma in English Education, 23 students in Community College, and up to 900 students of English courses in Young Learner and Communicative English Language Program. About 70 percent of students in the Diploma program are scholars who come from various places across the country. SAG becomes a beacon of hope where students can still find their hope amidst anguish and desperation.

“Spes non confundit – Hope does not disappoint”, Pope Francis uses St. Paul’s bold conviction that suffering and desperation must not let us down or put us to giving up in the latest document to begin the Jubilee Year 2025. To walk together with the unfortunate, we must have equal faith that hope emerges from hardship. Only by doing so, we would understand what it is meant to stand and bring hope to the people we accompany. The infant Lord came in the midst of the night and was proclaimed first to the simple and poor shepherd since he is the light of hope, the One who was born among us to guide us in living with the ongoing hope.

We thank you for your ongoing support of our work and service and pray that you are blessed with joy and peace as we conclude this year and prepare for the new days of 2025. May love, joy, peace and hope be with you all.

Our Objectives of Alumni Network

SAG Alumni is a seed just buried under the soil, soon it may grow into a full-grown plant which may give flowers and fruits.

Foster a Lifelong Connection: Ensure that all alumni feel like valued, lifelong members of the
SAG community, nurturing a strong sense of belonging and ongoing engagement with the
school. Keep alumni informed and connected regardless of their location by sharing regular
updates and news about SAG.
Build a Supportive Community: Create a strong network where alumni can provide mutual
support, collaborate, and enhance each other’s lives and careers. Expand job opportunities by
leveraging the network to share career resources, offer professional guidance, and support each
other’s growth and development.
Support Current Students: Develop and identify opportunities to assist current students, such
as providing scholarships and educational resources, especially for those with exceptional
potential. Emphasize the Ignatian value of being “men and women for others” by offering
support and guidance to students in need, helping to brighten their futures and empower them to
achieve their full potential.
Promote Ignatian Values and Service: Inspire alumni to embrace the principles of Ignatian
Pedagogy by actively seeking opportunities to live out the spirit of “Magis”—doing more for the
greater good throughout their lives. Encourage them to integrate these values into their personal
and professional journeys, fostering a deep commitment to service, social justice, and the greater
glory of God beyond their time at school.
