The St. Aloysius Gonzaga Institute of Higher Studies (SAG-IHS) was established in 1998 by the Society of Jesus at the invitation of the Archbishop of Taunggyi, Most Reverend Mathias U Shwe, D.D.

Origin and Growth

St. Aloysius Gonzaga English Language Institute, or SAG as it is popularly known, began its career at “Dhamayone”, a parish building next to the Cathedral.

Faculty and Administrative Staff

SAG – IHS has a core in-house teaching faculty member in all programs including adjunct faculty members from the Ateneo de Davao University,

Scholarships and Financial Aid

SAG-IHS offers two kinds of scholarships to Diploma in Education Students.  The first is offered directly by the Institute.

Institutional Affiliations

SAG is also affiliated with several local educational organizations for curriculum and teaching support, several dioceses, religious congregations, monastic shelters, and local NGOs and community welfare organizations.
